Ziad Abdelnour is a lebanese Maronite Christian financier and a neocon.

He is also listed as an expert on the hardline Zionist Middle East Forum's website. With Daniel Pipes he is the co-Publisher of Middle East Intelligence Bulletin

In an interview with Trish Schuh, in Counterpunch, in 2005, he said:

"Its all about money. And power. And wealth... and democracy has to be spread around the world.

"Those who want to espouse globalization are going to make a lot of money, be happy, their families will be happy.

"And those who aren't going to play this game are going to be crushed, whether they like it or not! This is how we rule. And this is how it's going to be as long as you have people who think like me.[1]

In 1982, a Christian-Maronite militia massacred civilians at the Palestinian refugee camps Sabra and Shatila. Around a thousand people died.

"Regarding the plans for regime change in Syria and Lebanon he added: The end justifies the means. I don't care about how it's done. The important thing is that it is done. I don't rule out force. I'm not against force. If it's an option, it will be an option...

"I have -- we have -- absolutely no problem with heavy US involvement in Lebanon. On an economic level, military level, political level, security level... whatever it is.

"Israel is the 51st state of the United States. Let Lebanon be the 52nd state. And if the Arabs don't like it, tough luck.[2]

Only this morning I received an email from an activist who to this day, is haunted by these experiences, survived thirty years ago, and developmentally formative TO THIS DAY!!

We are in a constant state of 'be- coming'

The Force is with us
of this I feel sure.

Blessings upon your work Aangirfan-in all you do.

The anti-Christ is that force of untrammeled power, money and sex.

many Christian churches, especially the Pentecostals, get people in, talking about financial prosperity.

With all due respect, this is NOT the message of the Christ.

Many, many people over the millennia have wanted to believe this 'message'.

The only message, however, that really matters, is Great Love.

Love for our neighbour.
Love for our Mother Earth/Gaia

Not the 'wealth creation' principle of LUniversity Economics/Wealth Creation/Zionistas/aristocracy/mon-archies.

This Ziad guy may just be a sick ba****d! I have worked with Maronites (the Counterpunch reporter ought to get things right) and I find it hard to believe that they (alone) formed a 'militia' that killed women and children.

Maybe I continue to be naive?

Anyway, after reading this post, it's dawned on me...the way to stop these traitor so-labelled christians/islamists/middle eastern players has nothing to do with politics but everything to do with 'money'.

All the people I've ever worked with were interested in money, status in their communities, to have the designer labels, to have box seats at a J-Lo concert, to eat in the finest restaurants...As these places are the domain of the super rich....What needs to be done? Destroy the system...the banking system... the monetary networks, and the worship of pop idols and wealth...bring them all down... and then you'll see how people like Ziad lose all power and have nothing to live for!

Excuse me, I'm a bit emotional today! (LOL)

Anonymous commented that she only this morning had written with an "avtivist" who was in Sabra and Shatila in September 82. She wrote about me.
A few things - Neo-Cons and Neo-Liberals - two sides of the same problem, are found in Lebanon as well as almost anywhere else. Mr. Ziad is one of many in Lebanon who work within the Zionist/Western rather than a Pan-Arab paradigm. Saad Hariri, head of the Movement of the Future, is heavily implicated in financing and arming insurgents in Syria. So is the leader of the Lebanese Druze Community and Chairman of the Progressive Socialist Party Walid Jumblatt. About a month ago he was implicated in delivering arms and equipment to insurgents. The weapons came via the Israeli Raphael Industry, at a value of over 25o Mil USD.
In other words,
the entire discussion about the one or the other brand of Christianity, Islam, Druze etc is somewhat misguided. The problem today is somewhat identical to that of the 70th and 80th.

The division is not between religious fractions but much more between upper and lower class, rich and poor, haves and have not´s, as well as pro Israeli/Zionist/West or anti Imperialist.

I have been in Beirut in 1982 and seen Christians in West Beiruth defend the city - as well as Sabra and Shatila, side by side with Muslims. Please don´t let yourselves be misguided into the paradigm that is set up to divide and conquer the disenfranchised and oppressed.

To the comment under the photo from Sabra and Shatila. Approximately 1.000 Palestinians were driven away on trucks, and I have not seen any of them return. The death toll is most likely between 2.500 and 3.000 - although one would be more than enough to be a crime.

When that is said.

Thank you very much for keeping the memory about Sabra and Shatila alive. I really appreciate you doing that.

With warm regards.
