"Welcome back, sir," General Petraeus said to Robert Gates as the latter arrived in Afghanistan.

They were apparently unaware of an open microphone.

"You gonna launch some attacks on Libya or something?"

Gates replied: "Yeah, exactly".

Libya: General Petraeus jokes about bombing Libya

Less than 12 years ago, NATO bombed Yugoslavia.

Kosovo was taken from Serbia.

NATO backed Hashim Thaci and his 'Kosovo Liberation Army'.

Thaci's lot are linked to the trade in heroin and body parts, and to al Qaeda.

There are signs that NATO "is gearing up for another victorious little 'humanitarian war', this time against Libya."

Libya: Is This Kosovo All Over Gain?

Remember the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia?

"According to Human Rights Watch, at least 500 civilians were killed by NATO bombing; the Yugoslavian government claimed that 2,000 civilians were killed.

"NATO repeatedly dropped cluster bombs into marketplaces, hospitals, and other civilian areas." (Cached )

FYI Folks
Ive been alerted to the article below..
What is the source of the israel-gadaffi connection? Is it this article by Press TV with its vague egyptian sources? Who are these sources? is PRESS TV lying?
What is News-israel?

is the story true at all?

Israeli arms distribution company Global CST has reportedly, under the authorization of Tel Aviv, provided Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi with African mercenaries to clamp down on anti-government protesters.

Egyptian sources have revealed that the Israeli company has so far provided Gaddafi's regime with 50,000 African mercenaries to attack the civilian anti-government protesters in Libya.

The arms company was previously convicted in an African country over illegal deals, News-Israel website reported.

Sources say Global CST had obtained the permission for providing the mercenaries to Gaddafi from the Israeli officials in advance.

Dodgy anonymous sources 2:

01 March , 15:19

(ANSAmed) - ROME, MARCH 1 - With approval from the government in Tel Aviv, an Israeli security firm is responsible for sending groups of African mercenaries to Libya to fight the protestors who have been calling for the fall of the Gaddafi regime for the last two weeks, reports Al Jazeera's website, citing a source in the Israeli press. The journalist from Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot, who prefers to remain anonymous, said that according to speculation in the security sector, Israel looks at Libya from a strategic perspective and in terms of security. The fall of Gaddafi would open the door for an Islamic regime in Libya, according to speculation. In a meeting on February 18, Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defence Minister Barak and Foreign Minister Lieberman decided to recruit African mercenaries to fight alongside Gaddafi, according to the journalist. During the meeting, they decided to let General Isarel Zef, the director of security firm Global CST, which is active in many African countries, to make a group of paramilitary mercenaries from Guinea, Nigeria, Central Africa, Mali, Senegal, Darfur and Southern Sudan available to Abdullah Assinousi, one of the heads of Libya's intelligence agency.
Clealy, this story has no solid foundation

The strategic assumptions behind "Operation Libya" are reminiscent of previous US-NATO military undertakings in Yugoslavia and Iraq.

In Yugoslavia, US-NATO forces triggered a civil war. The objective was to create political and ethnic divisions, which eventually led to the break up of an entire country. This objective was achieved through the covert funding and training of armed paramilitary armies, first in Bosnia (Bosnian Muslim Army, 1991-95) and subsequently in Kosovo (Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), 1998-1999). In both Kosovo and Bosnia, media disinformation (including outright lies and fabrications) were used to support US-EU claims that the Belgrade government had committed atrocities, thereby justifying a military intervention on humanitarian grounds.

Ironically, "Operation Yugoslavia" is now on the lips of US foreign policy makers: Senator Lieberman has "likened the situation in Libya to the events in the Balkans in the 1990s when he said the U.S. "intervened to stop a genocide against Bosnians. And the first we did was to provide them the arms to defend themselves. That's what I think we ought to do in Libya." (Clinton: US ready to aid to Libyan opposition - Associated, Press, February 27, 2011, emphasis added

The strategic scenario would be to push towards the formation and recognition of an interim government of the secessionist province, with a view to eventually breaking up the country.

there is NO proof Gadaffis mother is jewish...so called sources are like this one:

that leads further to a 'source'
An interesting item about Gaddafi from the NodeWorks Encyclapedia.

that gives this:

Web Page 404 Not Found

so i see no evidence just antisemitic claims that he is.

that is not the sort of scholarship that would make anons name!

Does it really matter whether some one is Jewish, as a political consequence? At any case, with Yugoslavia, the role of Roman Catholicism is the most significant one.
