Brisbane 1893.

Queensland, Australia (Website for this image).

In 1974, Cyclone Wanda brought serious floods to Brisbane.

On 11 January 2011, we learn that "Brisbane could be about to experience its worst flood since the catastrophic 1974 event, when at least 6700 homes were partially or totally flooded in the Brisbane metropolitan area." (Death toll rises as deluge hits Brisbane)

Some would say these are the worst floods since 1893.

There has been more than a month of rain in Queensland.

Nine people are dead and more than 70 are missing.

Cyclones bring rain to Queensland.

Anonymous drew our attention to the idea that the floods are the result of Kevin Rudd speaking out against Israel.

Kevin Rudd "not only called on Israel to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), but said it should open all its nuclear facilities to UN inspectors." (Are the QLD floods the result of Kevin Rudd speaking against Israel.)

Receiving the honorary 'Order of Australia' in 2010 were Richard Armitage and Michael Hayden, former boss of the CIA boss. They were honoured for increasing intelligence cooperation. (Former CIA boss gets Order of Australia.)

Retired Gen. Michael Hayden, who led the CIA from 2006 to 2009, said issues such as energy and water made Bush's daily briefings. (Why the CIA is spying on climate)

Arizona? Was expecting to find you commenting on recent events there. Is this an indication of your sympathy for people like Jared?

On another subject: I think Glen Beck is waaaay off the mark about Soros and Obama. The accusations of them being 'communists' is hilarious. Soros? Social democrats, perhaps. The US has little or no understanding of the difference between Communism and Socialism - much less of Russian Capitalism. In this respect Beck is just another conspiracy theorist. He makes fantastic generalisations because he fails to understand the economic realities of what he is up against. Change doesn't come about as a result of political ideals but out of economic imperatives. Wars are not fought over politcal ideals - they're fought over money and power centres.

Beck should stick to his Tea Parties. He's doing more harm than good. He feeds right into their hands.

I don't care about what Glen Beck says. I actually have never listened or watched his show. I think Soros and his friends are easy target to the so called right wing. Their ideas and what they preach are very clear. It is all out there. Soros doesn't care about Communism or Capitalism. He cares only about making a profit. I have been following the stock market for some of their companies, and you can clearly see that they know when to buy or sell their stocks. They have inside knowledge. It is just like a big family watching for each other. Keep your mouth shut and play the game.
