Madeleine McCann, Montpellier, Adanson, Diana

Montpellier and Diana

In May 2000, James Andanson's body was found in woodland near Montpellier.

Allegedly, Andanson was assassinated because he knew too much about 'the plot to kill Diana'. ( :: View topic - New inquest witness 'saw Fiat Uno ...)

Several weeks after his body was discovered, Andanson’s office was burgled and a number of his personal belongings were stolen.

Allegedly, Andanson was an MI6 informer and the driver of the Fiat Uno that collided with Diana’s Mercedes moments before it crashed.

Madeleine and Montpellier

Madeleine McCann, aged 4, vanished from Portugal on 3 May 2007.

On 15 February 2008, a Dutch student, Melissa Fiering, claimed to have spotted Madeleine McCann being bundled into a car by a dark skinned man, near Montpellier in France.

French police claim to have tracked down the owner of the car in which the little girl was driven away after the number plate appeared on video footage. (New Madeleine McCann sighting 'not her')

"He has provided a plausible explanation of what he was doing with a young child in a motorway service station", said a source.

The source said: "The police have looked at the film and observed the man and the little girl who could have indeed resembled the little Maddie, but their judgement is that it almost certainly not her."

Student says she spotted Madeleine McCann in French cafe - Mirror ...

At 9.20 pm, on 15 February 2008, Dutch student Melissa Fiering, aged 18, together with a friend, were in a motorway service station cafe near Montpellier in South East France.

Among the people in the cafe were a little girl and a dark skinned man, possibly North African.

Melissa said:

"My friend and I had music playing loudly out of our mobile phones and this little girl was dancing to it. It was only when I looked closely at her I realised it was Madeleine.

"She had a very thin face and her blonde hair had been cut much shorter, down to her jaw. But it was her.

"I looked in her eye because I'd seen on TV that Madeleine's got a defect in her right iris and I saw this girl had it.

"I could hardly believe my eyes but I knew for sure it was Madeleine.

"I called out her name and she looked up at me - she obviously recognised it.

"But when I called out 'Madeleine' the man she was with got worried and started dragging her away from the queue."

As the man dragged the girl away he threw a white coat over her and pulled a woollen hat from his pocket and jammed it on her head.

Melissa said: "He didn't say a word but as they got to the door he prodded the girl in the back."

Melissa described the man as being about 6ft, with black hair, a black leather jacket, several days growth of stubble and a small moustache.

Melissa phoned the police and a detective was sent to the service station to examine CCTV footage with her.

She said: "We went into the manager's office and watched the footage from the six cameras in the cafe on a computer screen.

"I shouted out when I saw her. We zoomed right in close to the little girl's face and even on screen you could see her distinctive eye.

"The detective said 'It looks like it's definitely Madeleine'"
