Livingston - a Labour candidate - a murder


Robin Cook was MP for Livingston in Scotland. A by-election is to be held in Livingston. Jim Devine is the candidate of Blair's New Labour Party.

According to the Daily Record newspaper, 27 August 2005, Jim Devine has admitted to having had a number of affairs.

Union official Jim Devine, 52, who was selected as the party's candidate for Livingston on Thursday night, also confessed to a drink driving conviction.

Most Scottish newspapers are still concentrating on the Rory Blackhall murder in Livingston.

A stranger wearing a military-style deerstalker and military-style jacket is reportedly the prime suspect.
