In Mahla , the protesters stormed the Muslim brotherhood HQ in the city after hearing news that protesters detained there were being tortured.

The HQ in Mahla was ransacked.

Now to Suez canal governorates - both Suez and Port Said witnessed very alarming clashes.

Port Said was on fire for real last night.

There was an attempt to storm the FJP HQ in Port Said last night just like Alexandria but armed Salafists unleashed attacks on the protesters.

According to eye witnesses these Salafists had automatic weapons.

There were many injured in these clashes...

PLOT TO BREAK UP THAILAND

The Salafist Party of Light, ('Nour' - puritanical extremist Wahhabi) has won 21% of the seats with 24% of the (party-list) vote.

The biggest secular (non religious) party got 10% of the seats.

Mubarak's party was banned.

The turnout was around 59%

They give financial help to widows.

They supply water buffaloes on easy repayment plans to landless peasants.

3. Why vote for the Salafists?

They distribute cut-price food.

They appear on Saudi-funded satellite TV channels.

Some Mubarak supporters voted for the Salafists, to frustrate the Muslim Brotherhood.

A weakened Egypt now provides Israel with a chance to grab the Sinai. Syria had better look out.

4. The Muslim Brotherhood's 80-page manifesto mentions neither Israel nor Palestine.

5. The Salafists want a 'restricted' democracy.

They want to ban alcohol, adopt the veil and segregate the sexes in public.

Members of the fundamentalist SALAFI movement have clashed with villagers south of Cairo over demands that an alcohol store and coffee shops be closed.

One villager was killed in the armed clashes.

The powerful Salafists want to ban alcohol and want shariah law.

In Egypt there are rumours that the Salafi movement plans a massive rally aimed at forcing all Egyptian women to wear a veil and punishing those who don't adhere by burning their faces with acid.

Salafi doctrine "is only a few shades away from that of groups such as al-Qaeda."

"The growth of Salafism is visible in dress.

"In many parts of Cairo women wear the niqab, a veil which shows at most the eyes.

"The men grow their beards long..."
