MARRIED TO THE MOB; PRESIDENTS AND IN-LAWS

'Obama's men' execute two young boys in Syria. Rebels execute Two Small Boys.

Thank goodness that Syria's Assad is not like your typical American president.

Obama is linked to the deaths of young gay men in Chicago.

"Among the members of the gay 'Down Low Club' were Obama and TUCC’s choir director, Donald Young, an openly gay man who reportedly had a sexual relationship with Obama.

"Two other gay members of the church were Larry Bland and Nate Spencer.

"Young and Bland were brutally murdered, execution style, in late 2007."

Recent American presidents, and their families, have had close links to the Mob.

"Sources credit Nadhmi  Auchi with being the fifth richest man in the world...

"Auchi had been Saddam Hussein's senior arms dealer and had morphed into his principal international financial bagman, and had become the Godfather of the UN Oil for Food scheme...

"Auchi is ... the shadowy puppet master to Antoin 'Tony' Rezko."

Rezko raised money for Obama.

Rezko had property dealings with Obama.

American academic David Lesch sees Bashar al-Asad as a “combination of computer nerd, ophthalmologist, devoted family man, westernized pop-culturist, outgoing and caring friend, humble and reluctant leader..."

What about the reputation of the Assads?

From 1976 to 1982, the CIA's Islamists carried out a terrorist campaign against the secular 'reformist' government of Syria.

The Muslim Brotherhood's violence included bomb attacks and the targeting of government officials.

The CIA's Islamists in Syria

In 1982, in Hama, the Muslim Brotherhood Islamists attacked people "while sleeping in their homes and killed whomever they could kill of women and children, mutilating the bodies of the martyrs in the streets, driven, like mad dogs, by their black hatred."

The security forces then "rose to confront these crimes."

It should be noted that the Muslim Brotherhood has been described as being a tool of the CIA and MI6.

KOREA PSY-OP

South Koreans

From NPR:

"International TV broadcasters have been repeatedly showing tanks trundling through Pyongyang’s Kim Il Sung Square in a demonstration of North Korean national power.

"But when Patrick Thornquist, a Chicago teacher visiting the North Korean capital at the end of last week, arrived in the square, he was surprised by what he saw.

"This iconic square was full of children rollerblading and shouting with joy.

"One of leader Kim Jong Un’s contributions to the nation has been building roller-skating parks and promoting entertainment facilities.

No tanks!

"And Thornquist was struck by the fact that, on watching the news later that day, it was still featuring footage of tanks.

"'It was definitely interesting to see tanks on BBC in the hotel, as if that was that day, when we’d been in that square a couple of hours earlier and nothing like that was happening,' he says."

The BBC are shitty liars.

JOBS CRISIS

www2.warwick.ac.uk

Robots have taken over many factory jobs.

Now computers are taking away many jobs that used to need the human touch.

An online learning company, EdX, has reportedly found a way to mark students' work by computer.

Times are changing.

The USA has:

Only 157,000 bakers

But it has 202,000 sports coaches

And 80,000 substance-abuse counsellors.

The USA has more people working in social assistance and healthcare than in retail (shops)

US has gained 387,000 managerial positions and lost about 2m clerical ones.

There are jobs to replace those that computers have wiped out.

For example in food preparation, which is low paid, or in the installation of solar panels.

Jonathan Chait of New York magazine sees demographic change and cultural shifts affecting the political parties in the USA.

"The Republican party is now the party ... of meter-readers made redundant by the 'smart grid'...

The Democrats have become the party of solar panel installers.

"It is, in short, the party of globalisation's losers."

South Korea may have the answer.

South Korea has protected its industries from foreign competition.

At the same time it has allowed competition, within the country.

It has protected its small farms.

LUNCH WITH THE FT - KIM JONG-UN

Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju at the Haemaji Restaurant

I meet the supreme leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, in a private room at the Toffy Ukai restaurant in Tokyo.

Kim Jong-un is visiting Japan on a forged Brazilian passport.

Kim is wearing a Chicago Bulls T-shirt and Nike sneakers.

Kim Jong Un is reported to have had posters of basketball star Michael Jordan on his wall during his schooldays.

I complement Kim on his attire.

"I got the this shirt from Madeleine Albright," explains Kim. "That was back in 2000."

Kim at school in Berne in Switzerland.

We order tosui-tofu, cubes of tofu in a creamy, savoury casserole of soya milk blended with chicken broth, topped with layers of yuba tofu skin.

Kim asks the waiter for a bottle of Johnnie Walker whisky and some Yves Saint Laurent cigarettes.

Reportedly, Kim is a diabetic and suffers from hypertension.

Kim Jong Un. Soviet records show that Kim Jong Un's father, Kim Jong il was born in the village of Vyatskoye, near Khabarovsk, in 1941, where his father, Kim Il-sung, commanded the 1st Battalion of the Soviet 88th Brigade.

As we begin our meal, I ask Kim about his childhood.

"When I was a little boy, my father, Kim Jong il, got me to watch Disney cartoons for hours every day."

And what about Berne?

"I spent some time in Switzerland," relates Kim.

"Our family often gets together in Switzerland at Lake Geneva and Interlaken.

"That's where we see lots of Monarch butterflies."

Kim attended a Swiss boarding school in Berne in the mid 1990's.

"I was enrolled as the son of the chauffeur of the North Korean Embassy," explains Kim.

Kim Jong-un's Swiss school was the "Liebefeld Steinhölzli" in Köniz near Bern.

Kim Jong-un was described by classmates as shy, awkward with girls, not interested politics, but very interested in sport.

"Sometimes a car from the North Korean Embassy would drive me to Paris to watch an NBA exhibition game," says Kim.

Kim has been photographed with Kobe Bryant and Toni Kukoč.

I ask Kim about his older brother.

"Kim Chong Chol, is a big fan of Eric Clapton," says Kim.

"He's been to  four Clapton concerts, in Germany, and one in Singapore."

Does Kim Jong Un like music?

"I like to drink and party all night, just like my father.

"I use a sauna beat hangovers."

Disney in North Korea.

As the bottle of Johnnie Walker is emptied, Kim Jong Un becomes lucid on the subject of politics.

"My role, as a good socialist, is to promote the interests of the USA's military industrial complex," says Kim.

"Certain Israelis and certain Americans supply our nuclear materials.

"Our Gulags are run by...."

Bert Hardy was the star photojournalist on Picture Post, Britain’s most influential picture magazine.

The USA committed mass genocide in Korea.

"Outside the train station were about sixty political prisoners, aged 14 to 70, suspected of opposing South Korean dictator Syngman Rhee.

"They were tied up, and wore almost no clothes; when they tried to scoop a drink from the puddles of rain that they were squatting in, South Korean guards beat them with rifle butts.

"When Hardy took the photos, they were about to be taken off and shot."

ISRAEL: HOPE; VIOLENCE IN THE WORLD

www.thejerusalemconnection.us

On 1 February 2013, at the Financial Times, Simon Kuper wrote about Israel: perched between hope and fear

"Listen to six former chiefs of Israel’s domestic intelligence service Shin Bet.

"They speak in the new Israeli documentary The Gatekeepers...

"'We are making millions of people’s lives unbearable,' says one ex-chief.

"'We have become cruel,' says another.

"'When you retire,' a third says of his job, 'you become a bit of a leftie.'"

Simon Kuper continues:

"War is in decline worldwide, as the Harvard psychologist Steven Pinker points out in his magnificent book The Better Angels of Our Nature.

"In part, states have learnt that war rarely achieves its goals.

"In part, mass media and international pressure put the brakes on prolonged bloodshed.

"Israel now gets only brief windows to fight wars ('to cut the grass' as its army says) before the world intervenes.

"Hence its 'mini-wars' of recent years in Gaza and Lebanon....

Tel Aviv Dance
Tel Aviv. By Gilad Benari

Simon Kuper continues:

From "January 2009 through October 2012, 422 people (mainly Palestinians) were killed in Israeli-Palestinian violence.

"That’s horrible - but it’s a far lower death rate than the homicide rate in a safer than ever New York City over the same period.

"Tel Aviv really has become a hip Mediterranean beach town with an IT boom.

"Military leaders worry that civilians are becoming less willing to sacrifice."

The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined by Steven Pinker argues:

Violence in the world, especially the western part, has declined both in the long run and in the short, and suggests explanations why this has happened.[1]

The Better Angels of Our Nature - Wikipedia,

Pinker argues that "The way to explain the decline of violence is to identify the changes in our cultural and material milieu that have given our peaceable motives the upper hand".[2]

Among these social changes cited as bringing about the ascendancy of our "better angels" are:[3]

1. The interconnectivity of cultures through the need for trade.

2. Increased literacy.

3. Increased urbanisation.

4. Increased mobility.

5. Increased access to mass media.

6. All of the above exposing different cultures to each other.

7. The spread of democracy.

Pinker stresses, however, that "The decline, to be sure, has not been smooth; it has not brought violence down to zero; and it is not guaranteed to continue".[4]

John Arquilla criticized Pinker's book in a December 3, 2012 article in Foreign Policy.

Arquilla criticized Pinker for using statistics that he said didn't accurately represent the threats of civilians dying in war:

"The problem with the conclusions reached in these studies is their reliance on 'battle death' statistics.

"The pattern of the past century - one recurring in history - is that the deaths of noncombatants due to war has risen, steadily and very dramatically.

"In World War I, perhaps only 10 percent of the 10 million-plus who died were civilians.

"The number of noncombatant deaths jumped to as much as 50 percent of the 50 million-plus lives lost in World War II, and the sad toll has kept on rising ever since." [22]

The Better Angels of Our Nature - Wikipedia,

It is estimated that 10 million people died in the Korean War - as many as died in the First World War. Korean War

Six million dead in Congo's war

Vietnam War killed 3.8 million Vietnamese.
