Tom Baldwin was the Times journalist who named David kelly as the source of the BBC's claim that the Blair government had sexed up its Iraq dossier.

Baldwin has now been appointed by the UK Labour Party leader Ed Miliband as his new director of strategy.

Baldwin's wife Rebecca is a rich heiress.

Lord Ashcroft wrote of Baldwin: "I found Baldwin was not only a binge drinker, but also that he was a habitual user of cocaine, the Class A recreational drug."
