Above Loch Ness, the £150m Glendoe hydro-electric scheme is nearing completion.
Scottish and Southern Energy's Glendoe project will be capable of generating 100mw of power, enough to power Glasgow.
Glendoe will be the second largest hydro scheme out of the 80 already in Scotland.
Most were built in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
The Scottish Government aims to generate 50% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2020.
According to Halligan: "My biggest problem isn’t that the Paulson plan is too vague (inevitable, given the political stakes) or that US house prices will keep falling (a fact of life). My problem is that this bail-out is utterly misconceived.
"The idea of buying bank’s illiquid assets sounds good in theory. But it won’t solve the main issue – namely, the banks have very little capital to lend anyway, even if their sub-prime losses disappear.
"Congress should be approving a direct recapitalisation of US banks – as the Swedish government was forced to back in the mid-1990s – rather than messing about with TARP. I fear that’s eventually what will happen. So this bailout is only round one."
CARTER DOUGHERTY, at The New York Times, September 22, 2008, tells us:
Sweden's government took over the banks' bad debts.
But the banks's shareholders had to suffer.
Banks had to write down losses and issue warrants (shares) to the government, making the government an owner.
When assets were sold, the profits went to taxpayers.
And the government was later able to sell its shares in the banks.
Sweden spent 4 % of its gross domestic product to rescue ailing banks.
That is slightly less than the roughly 5% of gross domestic product, that the Bush administration estimates its own move will cost in the United States.
Dianne Maloney, 49, from London, may have been murdered, because of her connections to Jersey child abuse.
Her brother, Bill Maloney, 52, has presented evidence to an inquest that Dianne was murdered, as a result of his investigation into child abuse in children's homes.
Speaking to the 'Southwark News' (FAMILY INSISTS MYSTERY DEATH WAS MURDER) Bill Maloney, said: "There seems to be things that happened to my sister that they (the police) are not aware of. I was looking for an adjournment and I am now looking for an investigation by the police, because they have not come to me or come to my family."
Eight members of the Maloney family, who lived at Astbury Road in Peckham, were all placed in care as youngsters.
Bill Maloney said that Dianne had suffered long periods of sexual abuse while in homes.

Recently Bill made a documentary called 'Sun, Sea and Satan' about the Haut de la Garenne children's home in Jersey where children's bones have been discovered in the grounds.
Dianne as a youngster took a sailing trip with the Sea Cadets to the Jersey care home.

Dianne had sorted herself out and was good but she was drinking again when her case (against two councils which was also looking into the treatment of children in care homes) was dropped, and the people who dropped the case knew this would happen.
"She was killed sometime between June 6 and June 12, on the 6th she attended King's College Hospital, where she complained she was punched in the chest, and there was blood around her mouth as well, but this was not followed up. My sister also had a habit of keeping thousands of pounds in her flat, which has never been recovered."
He added: "One of the last things she said to me was that she had a letter from the House of Commons she wanted to show me but I never got to see that. The next thing I heard was when I came back from work and my wife Maria greeted me along with my daughter Regan, and they told me that Dianne had died, so I could not understand why."

Reports by Western diplomats, on 27 September 2008, suggest Zimbabwe's power-sharing agreement may collapse, as a result of actions by President Robert Mugabe and his generals.
Both the U.S. and the EU have decided to maintain their targeted sanctions against Mugabe.
Nearly two weeks after the power-sharing agreement was signed, Mugabe's ZANU-PF party and Tsvangirai's MDC have not yet agreed on the division of the ministries.
It has been agreed that Mugabe is to control the Defence Ministry, which controls the army and the Central Intelligence Organisation.
But Mugabe also wants to control the Home Affairs Ministry, which runs the police.
And he also wants the Finance Ministry.
Mugabe is a 'bad guy'. More than a third of the Zimbabwean population has fled abroad, and about one million may have died as a result of starvation, political violence, AIDS and the collapse of the health-care system.

Lt Cdr Allan Waters, 57, worked with the Sea Cadet Corps in Britain for more than 30 years
In 2006, in India, Waters was jailed for child sex abuse.

Waters was appointed superintendent of the Sea Cadet training centre in Portsmouth in 1996.
Waters was a member of the Sea Cadet Council, the highest body of the corps.
The Sea Cadets confirmed that it was aware "that a report was made by a Sea Cadet officer who had concerns about Waters" in the early 1980s but said that allegations had "not been substantiated".
In 2006, Jersey Police, in the UK, were investigating child abuse by 'carers'.
The commanding officer of the Jersey Sea Cadets was arrested for downloading pornographic images including some involving sea cadets.

The US government last weekend decided it could no longer risk taxpayers’ money by supporting Lehman Brothers and on Monday that bank filed for bankruptcy.
In assessing the wisdom or otherwise of this decision one fact should be kept in mind: the International Monetary Fund estimates that the total cost to banks of losses stemming from the subprime crisis will amount to $1,000bn;
the cost of the war in Iraq, according to other estimates, particularly one by Linda Bilmes and Joseph Stiglitz, will come to $3,000bn.
The US has shot its financial bolt in Iraq, which may cost the country its financial system.
It quite simply no longer has the money to stop a run on banks.
Seen in this light, the war in Iraq brings to mind the ruinous decision on the part of the French ancien régime to finance Lafayette’s campaign during the American revolution.

Alex von Ungern-Sternberg , former group treasurer of Deutsche Bank, has joined a number of top business people in questioning the HBOS - Bank of Scotland takeover by English bank Lloyds TSB.
Ungern-Sternberg believes HBOS can still go it alone.
According to Ungern-Sternberg:
"The problem can be fixed without a merger.
"The non-retail asset side of the balance sheet should be run down to a level safely funded whilst interim funding gaps are plugged, using for example the Bank of England's special liquidity scheme. This would be in everyone's interest."
Others who have questioned the wisdom of the HBOS takeover deal include:
Sir Donald Mackay, the chairman of the Scottish Mortgage Trust; Sir George Mathewson, a former chief executive of the Royal Bank of Scotland; Sir Peter Burt, a former governor and chief executive of Bank of Scotland; Keith Skeoch, the chief executive of Standard Life Investments; and David Alexander, the owner of Edinburgh-based property firm DJ Alexander; analysts from JP Morgan and Société Générale.
1. A leading City figure, Keith Skeoch, the chief executive of Standard Life Investments, has suggested there has been an abuse of the stock market market rules in the case of HBOS.
Keith Skeoch said there had been a delay before the talks were formally announced.
Stock market rules insist that companies in advanced talks should make a formal announcement to the stock exchange, with trading in their shares being suspended.
If news of the talks been announced earlier, HBOS shares would not have crashed.
And, if HBOS had survive until Thursday night, when news of the United States government's plan to buy toxic debt was announced, the bank could still be independent.
Mr Skeoch in a BBC Radio 4 interview said: "I think we should be asking ourselves who was in the possession of that information and why it wasn't released to the market and why it was made available to the market via the BBC."
2. A source at the Bank of England has said that the Bank of England had sufficient funds to help HBOS stay independent.
The source suggested the deal was a "purely commercial decision" and nothing to do with HBOS's survival.
The Gordon Brown government waived competition rules only because it claimed this was about HBOS's survival.
3. Archie Kane, the chief executive of Scottish Widows (owned by Lloyds TSB) said "This deal was done for commercial reasons. We would not have got into the situation otherwise. We operate on behalf of our shareholders, we do the best thing for our key stakeholders."
4. The Financial Services Authority (FSA) failing to stop the practice of short-selling in time to save HBOS. Why?
5. The SNP MSP Alex Neil, a former economic consultant, is demanding an inquiry into the alleged abuse of the market.
He said: "It appears that there has been a serious breach of stock market rules, which must be investigated...
"If what appears to be coming out of the Bank of England is true, and this was a purely commercial decision, then we have to ask why HBOS is being sold. If it is true it needed to be rescued, then both the Bank of England and FSA failed HBOS."
6. The UK Shareholders Association (UKSA) has said that HBOS appeared to be profitable.
It said that if indeed it was a "good deal" for HBOS shareholders to sell the bank at about the current market price, the directors had a lot of explaining to do.
There are doubts whether HBOS shareholders will back the merger.
A spokesman for the UKSA, said: "Only if HBOS shareholders receive an adequate explanation that convinces them that a sale of the bank was essential should they approve the takeover by voting for it."

Sir David Manning is on the board of Lloyds Halifax, which now includes what used to be Halifax - Bank of Scotland (HBOS).
Manning, who is Jewish, was HM ambassador to Israel between 1995 and 1998, foreign policy adviser to Blair from 2001 to 2003 and HM ambassador to the USA from 2003 to 2007.

Salmond told BBC Scotland that HBOS was soundly based.
He said that financial regulators should have acted to prevent the speculative attack.
HBOS is to merge with Lloyds TSB after its share price plummeted.
A union has warned the merger could be "catastrophic" for the 17,000 HBOS staff based in Scotland
Salmond said the financial regulators the Financial Services Authority left HBOS vulnerable to speculative attack by failing to act.
He said HBOS was properly funded and had a good capital ratio.
"I am very angry that we can have a situation where a bank can be forced into a merger by basically a bunch of short-selling spivs and speculators in the financial markets," he said.
"We should not have situations where well capitalised, properly funded financial institutions are subject to incredible speculative attack, and that drives them into decision making which they otherwise might not have done.
"You have got to put the hems on that sort of activity, otherwise we will have a succession of companies going through the same process. All financial regulators have got to wake up to where we are at the present moment."

"For the first time ever, the US military is deploying an active duty regular Army combat unit (The 'Raiders') for full-time use inside the United States to deal with emergencies, including potential civil unrest."
From 1 October 2008, the 'Raiders' (the First Brigade Combat Team of the Third Division) will be under the command of NorthCom, which was set up after 9 11 to defend the US “homeland”.
The “Raiders” led the assault on Baghdad in 2003 and carried out house-to-house combat in Ramadi.

Operation Northwoods was a Pentagon plan to kill innocent civilians in acts of terror.
NATO's Operation Gladio involved acts of false flag terror in Europe.
There has been speculation that all the recent terror incidents in Britain are part of a 'strategy of tension' similar to that which brought terror to Greece, Italy and Turkey in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
If elements of the security services could catch and kill someone on the London Underground and then claim that this person was a Moslem terrorist, this would advance the fascist agenda.
It would support the idea that 9 11, the Bali Bombs, the Madrid Bombs and the London Bombs were the work of Moslem terrorists, rather than the work of the security services, using double agents and patsies.
When agents of the UK government shot dead the innocent Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes, the police claimed that they had shot a dangerous terrorist.
It looks as if there were (at least) two groups who were involved in the pursuit of Jean Charles de Menezes:
1. The police
2. A shadowy military group
Senior sources in the Metropolitan Police told The Observer (21 August 2005) that
1. their surveillance officers felt that de Menezes was not about to detonate a bomb,
2. was not armed
3. and was not acting suspiciously.
A police source said: 'There is no way those three guys would have been on the train carriage with him [de Menezes] if they believed he was carrying a bomb. Nothing he did gave the surveillance team the impression that he was carrying a device.'
It was only when they were joined by 'armed officers' that things changed.
The Sunday Herald, which often has the best sources on security matters, tells us about the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR).
Among the surveillance team in Scotia Road was a soldier from a new “special forces” regiment -the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR).
James Cusick, in the Sunday Herald, wrote:
"According to security sources, SRR personnel were involved in the tailing operation that saw de Menezes leave the block of flats, board a bus, and then enter the tube station at Stockwell. SRR personnel are also believed to have been on the tube train when he was shot.
"The SRR soldier at Scotia Road (given the codename Tango 10) used equipment which sent realtime pictures of all who came and went from the flats. Those receiving the pictures could check them against footage of who they were looking for. One security source said: 'In this kind of operation you never leave. You need to pee: you use a bottle; if there’s no bottle, tough. You never leave.'
"The police account says there is no footage of de Menezes leaving because the SRR soldier had to relieve himself. The police account says he sent out a message calling the man who left [de Menezes] an 'ICI' – a white northern European...
"Hussein Osman – arrested in Rome and scheduled for deportation to the UK within the next two months – was not an ICI. The CCTV footage of Osman the police held showed an Asian/north African male.
"De Menezes took a bus to Stockwell tube station, stopping briefly at Brixton...
"It is also understood that the senior police officer in charge of the operation, Commander Cressida Dick, had ordered de Menezes at this stage to be detained before he went into the tube station and that he should be alive...
"So why was de Menezes not stopped before the station?"
Apparently, both members of the police and the mysterious second group were on the train with de Menezes. It would appear that members of the mysterious second group murdered de Menezes.
"A security agency source contacted by the Sunday Herald said: 'This take-out is the signature of a special forces operation. It is not the way the police usually do things.... this has special forces written all over it.'”
The Sunday Herald points out:
"The initial post-mortem report into de Menezes’s death states the young Brazilian had 'vaulted over the ticket barrier'.
"A post-mortem report does not take its information from media reports. The police are contacted directly and written accounts are delivered. Details of the barrier being “vaulted” therefore came from the police. Why?
"And why at 4pm – five hours after the shooting – when the police would have known they had not killed Hussein Osman but a young Brazilian, did Sir Ian hold a press conference and insist that the shooting was 'directly linked' to the anti-terrorist operation?"
"Questions have been raised about the accuracy of the police intelligence that led to the raid on the block of flats occupied by de Menezes. It was initially suggested that the flat was connected to the man known as Hussein Osman, who was arrested in Italy.
"On the Saturday after the shooting, officers raided the flat in a high-profile operation watched by the world's media. As a result, a man, identified only as 'C', was arrested 'on suspicion of the commission, instigation or preparation of acts of terrorism'. But he was released on 30 July with no charge, raising the possibility that the flats had no connection with the bombings."
A passenger on the train, Anthony Larkin, told BBC News the man appeared to be wearing a "bomb belt with wires coming out".The 'man' was Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes, who was shot by government agents.
Commuter Anthony Larkin, who was also on the train at Stockwell station, told 5 Live he saw police chasing a man.
"I saw these police officers in uniform and out of uniform shouting 'get down, get down', and I saw this guy who appeared to have a bomb belt and wires coming out and people were panicking and I heard two shots being fired."

Did elements of the security services hope to fool the public into thinking that the person who was shot was one of the 'bombers' such as Hussain Osman - arrested in Rome .
Hussein Osman, who also uses the name Hamdi Isaac, moved to Rome by Eurostar five days after the 21 July attacks in London. His passport was not checked by the British at Waterloo.

Operation Gladio and the 'strategy of tension' in Italy beginning in 1969.
Operation Gladio was organised by 'fascists' within the security services of the West.
Reportedly, the idea was to kill innocent people and then blame this on others.
Gladio was about keeping the right-wing elite in power.
Gladio agent Vincenzo Vinciguerra stated, in sworn testimony:
'You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple: to force ... the public to turn to the state to ask for greater security.'
Italian Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti revealed the existence of Gladio in 1991.
Parliamentary investigations in Italy, Switzerland and Belgium have given us a little of the truth.
The book "NATO's Secret Armies: Operation Gladio and Terrorism in Western Europe," by Daniele Ganser documents some of what we know so far.
Run by fascist elements in NATO and Washington, right-wing militias carried out acts of terrorism and electoral subversion in states such as Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey and West Germany.

A Pentagon document, Field Manual FM 30-31B, details the methods for launching terrorist attacks.85 people were killed on August 2, 1980 in the bombing of the Bologna train station.
According to the Italian Senate, after its investigation in 2000, the bombers were later discovered to be "men inside Italian state institutions and ... men linked to the structures of United States intelligence."
The Bologna bomb was part of Gladio's " strategy of tension" - fomenting fear to keep populations in thrall to "strong leaders" who will protect the nation from the ever-present terrorist threat.
The beginning of the 'strategy of tension' in Italy came in Dec. 12, 1969 when a bomb exploded inside the Banca Nazionale dell' Agricoltura in Milan's Piazza Fontana. 16 people were killed and 58 wounded.
The Pakistan government appears to be spreading disinformation about the Marriott bombing.
On 22 September 2008, the BBC reported that:
1. a Pakistan government spokesman claimed that the prime minister and other top people were planning to have dinner at the Marriott at the time the bomb went off, but cancelled the booking at the last moment.
2. The Marriott Hotel's owner says this is not true and that there was no booking.
Did the Pakistan government work with the CIA and its friends to carry out the bombing, so as to support the case for Pakistan government cooperation with the Pentagon?

The most powerful man in Pakistan appears to be a friend of Mossad and the American government.
1. The Pakistani military was dismayed by reports of FIA contacts with the Israeli secret service, the Mossad, which had been cooperating with Indian secret service RAW.
2. One of the first acts of PresidentFarooq Leghari after dismissing Benazir Bhutto on 5 November 1996 was to imprison Rehman Malik, the Additional Director General FIA.

1. After the blast, a mysterious fire started on the fourth and fifth floors. It was said that this fire was the result of a gas pipeline burst.
2. Allegedly, the fifth and fourth floors of the hotel were housing mysterious steel boxes under the guard of United States marines. Allegedly, these boxes were moved into the hotel when Admiral Mike Mullen met Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and others in Islamabad.
The boxes may have contained explosives? Sounds like 9 11.
In 2003, a bomb hit the Marriott hotel in Jakarta. A number of poor Moslems were killed.

On 20 September 2008, at least 60 people were killed, and scores seriously injured, when, reportedly, the explosives laden truck was used against the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, Pakistan. (Car bomb attack in Islamabad leaves at least 60 people dead)
It was reported that several senior officers of the CIA were in Islamabad, on a visit, at the time of the explosion. (Islamabad blast)
According to Dawn, 21 September 2008, "Well-equipped security officers from the US embassy were seen on the spot soon after the explosions. However, they left the scene shortly afterwards."(Terror tears through capital)
Muhammad Azam, a Marriott security personal, told The Post that he was standing across the road when a big brown truck appeared. "I saw him (the truck driver) getting out of the truck, taking position and firing two rockets at the hotel." (Front & Back Page News Updates)
The explosion created a crater at least 25 ft deep and 30 ft wide, and totally destroyed the road in front of the building. (1000 kg explosives used in Pak blast) .
The aim of the blasts seems to have been to kill ordinary Pakistanis, so as to make Pakistanis and World Opinion sympathetic to America's war on terror.
The bombers may not have intended to destroy the hotel. But, reportedly, gas lines running to the hotel’s kitchen exploded and started a fire that damaged about two thirds of the hotel. Some officials said the intended destination of the truck with the bomb might have been the prime minister’s house. However, Kiyani has been trained in the USA. And Zardari is reportedly a friend of the neocons.
One report suggests that the American neocons toppled Mussharraf and put Zardari into power.

One of the biggest setbacks for the Scottish economy came just before Scotland lost its independence in 1707.
Scotland's Darien Scheme involved the setting up of a Scottish colony on the Isthmus of Panama in the hope of trading with both the East and the West. (the same principle later led to the building of the Panama Canal.)
The English Government did everything it could to make the scheme fail.
English investors withdrew their money.
English ships were forbidden to help the colonists.

Keith Skeoch, chief executive of Standard Life Investments, said: 'Someone was in possession of information and that information was leaked which caused a movement in HBOS's share price."

1. A leading City figure, Keith Skeoch, the chief executive of Standard Life Investments, has suggested there has been an abuse of the stock market market rules in the case of HBOS.
Keith Skeoch said there had been a delay before the talks were formally announced.
Stock market rules insist that companies in advanced talks should make a formal announcement to the stock exchange, with trading in their shares being suspended.
If news of the talks been announced earlier, HBOS shares would not have crashed.
And, if HBOS had survive until Thursday night, when news of the United States government's plan to buy toxic debt was announced, the bank could still be independent.
Mr Skeoch in a BBC Radio 4 interview said: "I think we should be asking ourselves who was in the possession of that information and why it wasn't released to the market and why it was made available to the market via the BBC."
2. A source at the Bank of England has said that the Bank of England had sufficient funds to help HBOS stay independent.
The source suggested the deal was a "purely commercial decision" and nothing to do with HBOS's survival.
The Gordon Brown government waived competition rules only because it claimed this was about HBOS's survival.
3. Archie Kane, the chief executive of Scottish Widows (owned by Lloyds TSB) said "This deal was done for commercial reasons. We would not have got into the situation otherwise. We operate on behalf of our shareholders, we do the best thing for our key stakeholders."
4. The Financial Services Authority (FSA) failing to stop the practice of short-selling in time to save HBOS. Why?
5. The SNP MSP Alex Neil, a former economic consultant, is demanding an inquiry into the alleged abuse of the market.
He said: "It appears that there has been a serious breach of stock market rules, which must be investigated...
"If what appears to be coming out of the Bank of England is true, and this was a purely commercial decision, then we have to ask why HBOS is being sold. If it is true it needed to be rescued, then both the Bank of England and FSA failed HBOS."
6. The UK Shareholders Association (UKSA) has said that HBOS appeared to be profitable.
It said that if indeed it was a "good deal" for HBOS shareholders to sell the bank at about the current market price, the directors had a lot of explaining to do.
There are doubts whether HBOS shareholders will back the merger.
A spokesman for the UKSA, said: "Only if HBOS shareholders receive an adequate explanation that convinces them that a sale of the bank was essential should they approve the takeover by voting for it."

He said that financial regulators should have acted to prevent the speculative attack.
HBOS is to merge with Lloyds TSB after its share price plummeted.

Salmond said the financial regulators the Financial Services Authority left HBOS vulnerable to speculative attack by failing to act.
He said HBOS was properly funded and had a good capital ratio.
"I am very angry that we can have a situation where a bank can be forced into a merger by basically a bunch of short-selling spivs and speculators in the financial markets," he said.
"We should not have situations where well capitalised, properly funded financial institutions are subject to incredible speculative attack, and that drives them into decision making which they otherwise might not have done.
"You have got to put the hems on that sort of activity, otherwise we will have a succession of companies going through the same process. All financial regulators have got to wake up to where we are at the present moment."

Around US$800 billion will be invested in Saudi Arabia over the next ten years.

Reportedly, Israel would like to take over Southern Lebanon, in order to get its water supplies.

The idea of the attack was to make it look as if the Lebanese were to blame.

Kevin Fulton, an ex-British army soldier, says he was recruited by the British secret service to spy on the IRA in the 1980s.

Fulton said that he informed his RUC handler “within hours” and that his handler had subsequently confirmed that this information “was put into the system”.

Q: “You think that some of the people responsible for the Omagh bomb were informing at the time?”
Fulton: “Yes, no doubt”.
Q: “And they couldn’t be compromised?
Fulton: “I don’t think the Omagh bombers meant to kill people. The thing is they did, shit happened.”
Q: “Were the RUC warned about the bomb?
Fulton: “I wouldn’t say they were warned; they would have known that certain things would have happened, yes.”
Q: And you know that for sure? Fulton: “Yes.”

Fulton stated to the Guardian that he passed on the name of the Real IRA member he suspected of making a bomb to the RUC and also gave the suspect’s car registration number.
Fulton alleges that the British and Irish security forces allowed the bomb to travel in a stolen car from the nearby town of Dundalk to Omagh because if it was prevented it could lead to the compromising and possible exposure of agents within the Real IRA.
Why did Sinn Fein reportedly close their office the day before the bomb?
Why was the army confined to barracks?
Why did the RUC have only three men on the streets of Omagh and 24 men in surrounding areas?
A former British double agent, Michael Clark, stated: “It makes perfect sense for the army or the intelligence services to allow the progress and delivery of a device of some nature to preserve and protect the safety of an agent. I believe that is possibly the case”.
Is it possible that a British agent within the Real IRA planted the Omagh bomb?
The Force Research Unit (FRU) was an undercover security operation financed and run by the British state in Northern Ireland for more than two decades.
According to WSWS, "The FRU was a terror network that organised a series of covert intelligence and military operations and authorised their agents to carry out numerous illegal activities including bomb making, murder, and the shooting of RUC officers."
Fulton claims that he became an IRA member on FRU instructions, and took part in a series of terrorist bombings in the 1980s and the early 1990s. These included the 1993 bombing that decimated the town centre in Portadown.
According to WSWS, Britain was "a political beneficiary of the Omagh bombing."
It led to a public outcry demanding an end to violence and helped isolate the groups opposed to the signing of the Northern Ireland Agreement.
According to WSWS, "the bombing provided a pretext for the Blair government to introduce new laws before a specially recalled Parliament."
These laws allow the conviction of someone belonging to a proscribed organisation on the evidence of a senior police officer alone.
A defendant’s right to silence was breached.
The measures include powers to convict people on the basis of conspiring within Britain to commit terrorist offences anywhere in the world, making it possible to criminalise and even ban a swathe of organisations opposed to regimes friendly towards Britain.

On 10 September 2008, the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Michael Mullen, told the US Congress that he wants to open a new theatre of war in Pakistan.

In July 2008, Bush is reported to have secretly approved orders allowing US special forces to carry out ground assaults inside Pakistan.
Zardari
Much will now depend on Pakistan's Army chief, the American trained Ashfaq Parvez Kiyani, and Pakistan's president, Zardari, who is reportedly a friend of the neocons.
One report suggests that the American neocons toppled Mussharraf and put Zardari into power.
