Douglas and Wendy Alexander
Douglas Alexander, a minister in Gordon Brown's UK Labour government, is the brother of Wendy Alexander, leader of the Labour Party in Scotland.
Gordon Brown says Douglas Alexander will be his General Election coordinator.
Both Douglas and Wendy have recently been in trouble.
According to The Telegraph, 24 October 2007, "Douglas Alexander faced calls to resign as Gordon Brown's general election chief after an independent inquiry found that his 'self-interested' moves to change electoral rules in Labour's favour led to the debacle that saw nearly 150,000 votes wasted in the Scottish elections this year.

David Abraham's ' multimillion-pound business park development at Bowburn in County Durham, in the UK, was blocked by the Highways Agency. This was because of a ban on further development beside the congested A1 road.

Making a laughing stock of fundamentalist Islam
Belief in the teachings of some of the Christian churches took a knock as a result of the slaughter by Christians of Christians in World war I. Some saw it as ungodly when certain Christian leaders supported the imperialists and militarists.
Surely fundamentalist Islam cannot survive much longer when its leaders behave in such an un-godly fashion.
Surely it is the leaders of Sudan who have insulted the Moslem religion.

Brutal warders use techniques including solitary confinement, sleep deprivation, whipping with a hose and branding with an iron.
'There have even been reports of women being shackled and then raped by security officials.'

UK teacher jailed over teddy row; time to denounce the fascist fundamentalists
In the Sudan a UK teacher has been jailed in a silly row over a teddy. (UK teacher jailed over teddy row )
Sudan is not unique in having controversial judges. Scottish judges sent a Libyan to jail for the Lockerbie Bombing. Reportedly the trial was unfair and the Moslem was innocent. (aangirfan: Lockerbie - who were the key players in the trial?)
Quite rightly, Bloggers condemn Sudan , just as they sometimes condemn the Scottish criminal justice system.
The teddy incident may be a turning point.
In the past, many bloggers, including this one, have shown sympathy for Moslems; there has been a belief that Moslems have been unfairly blamed for terrorism.
However, when it comes to cruel, ungodly, fascist behaviour, it seems that fundamentalist 'Moslems' can be just as wicked as fundamentalist 'Christians', 'Jews', 'Hindus' and 'Budhists'.
We should remember that when it comes to Terrorism: Moslems are apparently in it up to their necks
We still believe that the vast majority of Moslems are friendly, moderate people. (Kids getting exercise)
We base this belief on extensive visits to at least five 'Moslem' countries in recent years.
But the fascist fundamentalist Moslems must be denounced and opposed.

"It is significant that Al Shamal's assets were never frozen by the United States nor was it designated a terrorist-related organization. The Sudanese claim that Al Shamal is no longer in operation and the Bush administration has not countered these claims."

Scotland's CRIMINAL justice system; Hutchesons' Grammar School yobs walk free
Thomas HutchesonHutchesons' Grammar School, in Glasgow, was founded in the 17th century by George and Thomas Hutcheson to teach orphans.
Hutchesons' Grammar School is now a private school. It educated Derry Irvine.
And now it seems to select yobs as some of its pupils.
A gang of five pupils from Hutchesons tried to gatecrash a party and left two men and a boy needing hospital treatment.
The injured 14 year old boy had his face cut with a bottle.
One yob was brandishing a chain during the attack.
What happened to the yobs? Did they go to jail?
Four of them were each ordered to carry out 200 hours' community service.
One was given a 12-month deferred sentence.
So the reputation of Hutchesons' Grammar School may have gone down the plughole.
And the reputation of Scottish justice is again in tatters?

Religion and Madness
At least 20% of the population may have a mental disorder during a given year. (Mental Health: A Report of the Surgeon General - Chapter 2)Fundamentalists often appear to be particularly mad.
Thinks of the mad Hindus attacking Moslems in Mumbai. Think of the Christian Crusaders roasting children on spits.
Think of certain officials of the Ministry of Education in Sudan.

"The children voted and chose the name Muhammad. All but one of the children in her class are Muslims. Gillian then wrote a letter to the parents of Class 2X explaining that the children had chosen the name Muhammad for their class teddy bear.

Blair, Abrahams, Newcastle, Poulson; New Labour - New Sleaze?
David Abrahams, one of the UK Labour Party's major donors, has been in the news.
Mr Abrahams was in the front row when Tony Blair made a speech to local Labour party figures in his former Sedgefield constituency in June announcing his decision to stand down and quit Parliament.
Abrahams served as a Labour councillor in Tyne and Wear and his late father, Bennie Abrahams, was Lord Mayor of Newcastle.

Labour Party sleaze?
There was Labour MP Edward Short 'who had been in the habit of receiving bundles of banknotes from T Dan Smith', the city boss of Newcastle and one time partner of Eric Levine.
Smith formed business links with architect John Poulson which led to his trial for accepting bribes in April 1974.
"Smith's painting and decorating firm received more than half of the contracts for council housing. In 1962 he established a public relations firm to support redevelopment of other urban centres in the north-east, and later nationwide.
"This company formed links with John Poulson, an architect keen for the business and known for paying those who could supply it. Two senior Labour Party councillors in Doncaster, South Yorkshire and a property developer were sentenced to a total of 11 years in jail.
The case has been described as the tip of a vast pyramid of corruption.
Doncaster Labour Party corruption involved:
1. councillors taking expenses for foreign trips
2. councillors buying racehorses
3. embezzlement reportedly running into millions
4. 74 arrests
5. 23 Labour councillors convicted for expenses fraud.
In neighbouring Labour Party-dominated Rotherham council:
1. Rotherham councillors set up an initiative to deal with the town’s poverty
2. Appointed officials received salaries of up to £100,0003.
The organisation failed to draw up a single working policy to combat poverty.

An independent report for the Scottish government has found that there has been massive child abuse in Scottish care homes. (Scotland’s shame )

Two suspected suicide bombers successfully searched - hours before de Menezes was shot.

Two suspected suicide bombers were pinned to the wall by unarmed police just hours before Jean Charles de Menezes was shot dead, it emerged last night.
Both were held after members of the public became concerned that the two were about to let off bombs at London railway stations...
The suspects were simply searched, found to be carrying no explosives and, after questioning, allowed to leave.
In both incidents, firearms teams were sent to the scene...
Details of the these incidents come from court documents, according to the Daily Mail.
Why was Jean Charles de Menezes treated differently? Why was this innocent man shot dead on an underground train?
Did elements of the security services want to have an innocent man killed on the train as part of 'strategy of tension'?
1. The police failed to stop and question de Menezes as he emerged from the Scotia Road premises where he lived. (Brown backs police chief despite Old Bailey ruling)
2. The police failed to have a firearms team at the block of flats when Mr de Menezes emerged from the communal doorway.
3. The police failed to identify a "safe and appropriate" area where those leaving the Scotia Road premises could be stopped and questioned.
4. The police failed to deploy firearms officers at relevant locations in time to stop Mr de Menezes getting on to the bus and into the Tube station.
5. There was a failure to take effective steps to stop Tube trains or buses or take other "travel management steps" to minimise the risk to the travelling public.
6. De Menezes was allowed twice to get on to a bus and to go into the Tube station.
7. Reportedly, there was a failure to give accurate information to Commander Dick about where specialist SO19 officers were when she was deciding whether they or Special Branch (SO12) officers should stop de menezes.
8. There was a failure to minimise the risk in arresting Mr de Menezes by armed officers "whether in relation to the location, timing or manner of his arrest".
Reportedly, among the surveillance team in Scotia Road was a soldier from a new "special forces" regiment -the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR).

Those receiving the pictures could check them against footage of who they were looking for. One security source said: 'In this kind of operation you never leave. According to The telegraph, while de Menezes was being followed by surveillance officers, Commander Cressida Dick was aware that de Menezes was NOT a terrorist. (London Telegraph)

Surveillance officers had been following the bus on which de Menezes was travelling. These officers were preparing to stop the bus and apprehend de Menezes in order to interview him. Then Commander Dick gave the order that the surveillance officers were to stand down and not intervene.
De Menezes was allowed to enter the London Underground and board a crowded tube train. At this point, a shadowy government force shot and killed de Menezes. The police then claimed to have shot a dangerous terrorist and they began to tell what looked like a series of lies.

Oddly, Anwar had allegedly given money to APPC and Douglas Paal.

Michaela's estranged husband Luis Antonio, a pool cleaner who worked at the resort where Madeleine McCann vanished.
A woman has told detectives from the Spanish Metodo 3 agency that Michaela Walczuch, 34, handed over a girl looking like Madeleine to a man in a car just two days after Madeleine vanished.
The witness said Walczuch took the child from her car and bundled her into the other car in central Portugal, 90 miles away from the resort of Praia da Luz.

According to a news story in the Sydney Morning Herald, November 2, 2002:
"Some time around the 30 October 2002, senior officers in the Indonesian military HQ gave a piece of information to a military attache from a Western embassy in Indonesia -the source of explosive used in the October 12 bombing in Bali was the head of the counter-terrorism unit with the army's special forces."
The father-in-law of the officer concerned is Hendropriyono, Indonesia's spy chief.
Allegedly, Kuwaiti citizen Omar Al Faruq played a part in the Bali bomb plot. Al Faruq was arrested in Bogor on June 5, 2002 and handed over to US authorities. Al Faruq was able to escape from custody.
Former Indonesian State Intelligence Coordinating Board (BAKIN) chief A.C. Manulang was quoted by Tempo as saying that Al-Faruq was a CIA-recruited agent.
The airline manifest of Garuda airlines shows that at least two generals from Jakarta visited Bali three days before the bombings and that they returned to Jakarta one day before the Sari Club was blown up. This was confirmed by armed forces chief General Sutarto, who claimed that General Djaja Suparman was on vacation, while General Ryamizard Riyacudu, chief of staff, was said to have gone to Bali for health reasons.

As convent school girls, and former convent school girls, we have to think about these things quite a lot.
Are we to take the Bible seriously when it comes to rules about sex or rules in general?
God's Commandments, according to the Old Testament, include ( Ebon Musings: The Big Ten) :

The blood of a sacrifice shall not be offered together with yeast, nor shall the sacrifice of the Passover feast be left until the next morning.

In Judges 11:29-40 ( ritual human sacrifice ), we read:

Aamer Anwar, Mohammed Siddique and Scotland's 'discredited' criminal justice system.
Is the reputation of Scottish justice in tatters?
A Scottish court found Mohammed Atif Siddique guilty of (1) providing training material on bomb-making and (2) spreading terrorist propaganda on websites. Siddique was jailed for 8 years.

After the trial, Siddiques's lawyer, Aamer Anwar read a statement which said that Siddique, was merely doing "what millions of young people do every day, looking for answers on the internet". - Legal luminaries defend Aamer
Anwar stated that the "verdict was a tragedy for justice and for freedom of speech", and added: "Young Muslims live in a climate of fear no different to that experienced by the Irish community in the last century."
Anwar said that Siddique "did not receive a fair trial".
Lord Carloway, the Siddique trial judge, has told Anwar that he faces a possible contempt of court charge. If convicted, Anwar could go to prison and be banned from practising law.
Imran Khan, the London solicitor who acted for the family of Stephen Lawrence, said about the Anwar case: "There should be no attempt to silence lawyers. If lawyers can't speak out then one of the bedrocks of justice - the right to highlight a miscarriage of justice - just goes."
Michael Mansfield, one of the top five QCs in England, said: "We need independent strong lawyers who will speak out."

Lord Fraser was the lord advocate (1989-92) who initiated the case against Megrahi (the Libyan convicted in the Lockerbie trial). On 20 December 2006 Lord Fraser was detained by police after they were called to Dundee Airport following reports of a disturbance on board an aircraft. Lord Fraser was charged with disorderly conduct. It was announced on 2 February 2007 that the Crown Office had dropped these charges due to insufficient evidence that an offence had been committed.
Lord Hardie, as Lord Advocate 1997-2000, was due to lead the prosecution team in the Lockerbie trial. Lord Hardie resigned just before the Lockerbie trial began. There were rumours that there was a lack of evidence to convict the Libyans.
Dr Hans Kochler, the United Nations observer appointed to oversee the Lockerbie trial, said the Lockerbie trial was "not fair and was not conducted in an objective manner". ( UN Lockerbie trial observer urges independent inquiry into the case )
The Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission (SCCRC) examined the Lockerbie case. Kochler said about the SCCRC: "In giving exoneration to the police, prosecutors, and forensic staff, I think they show their lack of independence. No officials to be blamed, simply a Maltese shopkeeper. They also exonerate the original trial and appeal defence team and this also surprises me. In other words, the Republicans support an essentially militaristic policy.

De menezes murder - accident or design?
Jean Charles de Menezes was shot dead on a London underground train.
Was this an accident,
or,
did elements of the security services want to have an innocent man killed on the train as part of 'strategy of tension'?
In the recent trial of the Metropolitan Police, the court heard how a "catastrophic" series of key failures in police procedure led to Mr de Menezes, 27, being shot seven times by armed police officers at Stockwell Underground station:
1. The police failed to stop and question de Menezes as he emerged from the Scotia Road premises where he lived. (Brown backs police chief despite Old Bailey ruling)
2. The police failed to have a firearms team at the block of flats when Mr de Menezes emerged from the communal doorway.
3. The police failed to identify a "safe and appropriate" area where those leaving the Scotia Road premises could be stopped and questioned.
4. The police failed to deploy firearms officers at relevant locations in time to stop Mr de Menezes getting on to the bus and into the Tube station.
5. There was a failure to take effective steps to stop Tube trains or buses or take other "travel management steps" to minimise the risk to the travelling public.
6. De Menezes was allowed twice to get on to a bus and to go into the Tube station.
7. Reportedly, there was a failure to give accurate information to Commander Dick about where specialist SO19 officers were when she was deciding whether they or Special Branch (SO12) officers should stop de menezes.
8. There was a failure to minimise the risk in arresting Mr de Menezes by armed officers "whether in relation to the location, timing or manner of his arrest".
Reportedly, among the surveillance team in Scotia Road was a soldier from a new "special forces" regiment -the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR).

"According to security sources, SRR personnel were involved in the tailing operation that saw de Menezes leave the block of flats, board a bus, and then enter the tube station at Stockwell. SRR personnel are also believed to have been on the tube train when he was shot.
"The SRR soldier at Scotia Road (given the codename Tango 10) used equipment which sent realtime pictures of all who came and went from the flats. Those receiving the pictures could check them against footage of who they were looking for. One security source said: 'In this kind of operation you never leave. You need to pee: you use a bottle; if there’s no bottle, tough. You never leave.'
"The police account says there is no footage of de Menezes leaving because the SRR soldier had to relieve himself. The police account says he sent out a message calling the man who left [de Menezes] an 'ICI' – a white northern European..."
According to The telegraph, while de Menezes was being followed by surveillance officers, Commander Cressida Dick was aware that de Menezes was NOT a terrorist. (London Telegraph)
Commander Dick gave the final command: “Do not let surveillance intervene.” (CCTV proves police lied: de Menezes behaved normally before being ...)
Surveillance officers had been following the bus on which de Menezes was travelling. These officers were preparing to stop the bus and apprehend de Menezes in order to interview him. Then Commander Dick gave the order that the surveillance officers were to stand down and not intervene.
De Menezes was allowed to enter the London Underground and board a crowded tube train. At this point, a shadowy government force shot and killed de Menezes.The police then claimed to have shot a dangerous terrorist and they began to tell what looked like a series of lies.

Strategy of Tension
There has been speculation that all the recent terror incidents in Britain are part of a 'strategy of tension' similar to that which brought terror to Greece, Italy and Turkey in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
If elements of the security services could catch and kill someone on the London Underground and then claim that this was a Moslem terrorist, this would advance the fascist agenda.
It would support the idea that 9 11, the Bali Bombs, the Madrid Bombs and the London Bombs were the work of Moslem terrorists, rather than the work of the security services, using double agents and patsies.
When agents of the UK government shot dead the innocent Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes, the police claimed that they had shot a dangerous terrorist.
Did elements of the security services hope to fool the public into thinking that the person who was shot was one of the London 'bombers' such as Hussain Osman?

In the UK, Network Rail is to spend nearly £10bn on expanding the rail network over the next five years. (£10bn five-year plan to deliver a bigger, better railway )
Very little of this money will go to Scotland, which has one third of the UK land mass and which is desperately short of railway links.
The largest chunk of the money will go, as usual, to the South East.
The Borders rail link in Scotland will get £3 million.
The London area will get several BILLIONS.
This is yet another reason why the Scots should vote SNP.
