Lockerbie, Drugs and the CIA

On 21 December 1988, Pan Am flight 103 was blown up over Lockerbie in Scotland. 270 people died.

Minutes before flight 103 took off from London's Heathrow airport, FBI Assistant Director Oliver 'Buck' Revell took his son and daughter-in-law off the plane. [1001]

Revell was an associate of Lt. Colonel Oliver North who was linked to Iran-Contra. .[1002]

North ‘was a business associate of Syrian arms and drug runner Monzer al-Kassar.’ [1003]

Al-Kassar was closely linked with Rifat Assad, brother of Syrian ruler Hafez Assad. Rifat ‘was married to the sister of Ali Issa Dubah, chief of Syrian intelligence, who, along with the Syrian army, controlled most of the opium production in Lebanon's Bekka Valley.’ [1004]

Reportedly, al-Kassar was involved in shipping heroin from Lebanon into the USA.

A team led by Major Charles McKee of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), and Matthew Gannon, the CIA's Deputy Station Chief in Beirut, traveled to Lebanon to try to get some hostages released. [1012]

According to Juval Aviv, the Lockerbie investigator for Pan Am, McKee's team discovered the illegal CIA drug operation and refused to participate.

According to Aviv, McKee contacted the CIA headquarters but got no reply. McKee and Gannon, ‘against orders... decided to fly home to blow the whistle.’

According to Aviv: 'They had communicated back to Langley the facts and names, and reported their film of the hostage locations. CIA did nothing. No reply. The team was outraged, believing that its rescue and their lives would be endangered by the double dealing.

Reportedly Ahmed Jibril (founder and leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command ) had a base near Frankfort. Reportedly, Jibril had links to al-Kassar.

Reportedly bomb maker Marwan Abdel Razzack Khreeshat was part of Jibril’s cell. On 26 October Khreesat was arrested and one of his bombs seized. Then Khreesat was mysteriously released. [1009]

Former CIA agent Oswald Le Winter stated, "…pressure had come from Bonn… from the U.S. Embassy in Bonn… to release Khreesat." [1010]

Allegedly, one of Khreesat's bombs was used to bring down Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie.

After the crash

A member of a mountain rescue team said: "We arrived within two hours [of the crash]. We found Americans already there." [1023]

According to George Stobbs, a Lockerbie police inspector, "[I] started to set up a control room, and [between] eleven o'clock and midnight, there was a member of the FBI in the office who came in, introduced herself to me, and sat down — and just sat there the rest of the night. That was it." [1024]

Tom Dalyell, a member of British Parliament, stated: "…Absolutely swarms of Americans [were] fiddling with the bodies, and shall we say tampering with those things the police were carefully checking themselves. They weren't pretending, saying they were from the FBI or CIA, they were just 'Americans' who seemed to arrive very quickly on the scene."

Dalyell recalled: "It was… odd and strange that so many people should be involved in moving bodies, looking at luggage, who were not members of the investigating force. What were they looking for so carefully? You know, this was not just searching carefully for loved ones. It was far more than that. It was careful examination of luggage and indeed bodies." [1027]

Dr. David Fieldhouse, the local police surgeon, identified Major McKee's body. "I knew that [the identification of] McKee was absolutely correct because of the clothing which correlated closely with the other reports and statements, and the computers that were linked up to Washington." [1028]

Jim Wilson, local farmer, told relatives of Pan Am victims that he was present "when the drugs were found." Wilson discovered a suitcase packed with heroin in one of his fields.

One Scottish police officer said that his department had been told to keep an eye out for the drugs early on.

Muktar Said Ibrahim (born c. 1977), also known as Muktar Mohammed Said, was originally from Eritrea and arrived in the UK as a child dependent of asylum seekers in 1990.

He attended the Finsbury Park Mosque in North London, in which Abu Hamza preached. He is also believed to have befriended the "shoe-bomber" Richard Reid. In 1996, he was sentenced to five years in jail for a violent mugging. (The attacks on London, Part One: The arrests - Independent Online ...)

On 22 July 2005, the police were monitoring a block of flats in Scotia Road, Tulse Hill, in south London, where alleged bomber Hussein Osman was thought to be living.

The Economist describes one savage murder: "his killers were from ... a Tamil militant group, in the pay of Sri Lanka's democratically elected government."

According to The Economist, Colonel Karuna has recruited a militia which includes over 200 children, and this militia is being used by the government to murder its opponents.

3. The main Tamil Tiger leader is Mr Prabhakaran. President Rajapakse may have come to power with the secret help of Mr Prabhakaran.

According to The Economist, recent reports have suggested that the Tamil Tiger leader "struck a secret deal with the opportunistic Mr Rajapakse. In return for, in effect, delivering Mr Rajapakse to power, Mr Prabhakaran was promised cash..."

President Rajapakse's brothers now control the ministries of finance, defence and public works. Rajapakse and his brothers now control 70% of the government budget.

4. The Tamil Tiger leader Mr Prabhakaran is no saint. He demands that each family in the area he controls supply him with two child fighters.

Where do the weapons come from? Recently the government claims to have intercepted a ship carrying guns bought in Indonesia.

Rajiv Gandhi, Prime Minister of India, was killed in 1991 by the Sri Lankan Tamil Tigers -Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. In India, Justice Milap Chand Jain investigated the conspiracy to assassinate Gandhi.

He came across evidence that one suspect known as Chandraswami had links with the CIA and Mossad, and through them with the LTTE.

Britain will allow the alleged Lockerbie bomber to complete his sentence in Libya, Sky news has reported, June 2007. She wrote that there have been secret talks aimed at moving the Lockerbie bomber from Scotland to North Africa.

If Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi moves to Libya, this would probably mean the end of his appeal against his 27-year jail sentence.

UK and American security agencies would prefer the case not to be reopened publicly.

The Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission is considering whether Megrahi can appeal. 'It is expected next year to refer the case back to the appeal court because of new evidence, said to undermine his conviction'.

British, US, and Libyan officials 'have met in London and Geneva to discuss whether Megrahi could be moved to a prison in Libya or neighbouring African country before the decision is made.
'A source close to the discussions said that, once Megrahi was back in Libya, the application to the commission could be dropped...

Depleted Uranium and ill health in the UK and elsewhere.





Depleted uranium shells have been fired from the UK's Kirkcudbright range (Dumfries and Galloway) since 1995.

Depleted uranium (DU) shells were used in the Gulf War.

When a DU shell hits its target, it explodes and vaporises. Uranium micro-particles are transported by the WIND and by WATER.

A 1991 United Kingdom Atomic Energy report warned that depleted uranium left on Gulf War battlefields could cause 500,000 deaths among soldiers and civilians. (See also Dan Fahey, Swords to plowshares, www.nuclearfiles.org )

The Sunday Herald 7/1/01 quotes a Ministry of Defence document which states that the inhalation of particles from DU shells is a health risk.

Professor Doug Rokke, ex-director of the Pentagon's Depleted-Uranium Project, worked in the Gulf area during the war.

Rokke suffers from reactive airway disease, neurological damage and kidney problems.

Rokke says, "DU is toxic, radioactive and pollutes for 4,500,000,000 years. It causes lymphoma, neuro-psychotic disorders and short term memory damage. In semen, it causes birth defects..."

Shaun Rusling of the Gulf War Veterans and Families Association says that 521 British servicemen have died of Gulf War Syndrome to date.

According to Daniel Robicheau, there has been a massive rise in cancers in Saudi Arabia, and in most of the Emirates all the way to Bahrain.

In Iraq there has been a six-fold rise in cancers. Birth defects have become common.

An OFFICIAL study in Italy has found a direct connection between the deaths of six soldiers who served in the BALKANS and NATO's use of DU shells.

According to a letter from Mr Dan Kenny in the Galloway News, 30/11/00, nuclear waste lies in a field two miles from Bridge of Dee. "The field contains hundreds of tons of mud from Kirkcudbright and Palnackie harbours..."

The letter suggests that the Kirkcudbright Bay area has hotspots with dangerously high levels of radiation. (Part of the blame is put on the Windscale waste pipe.)

"Depleted Uranium: The Invisible War" by Messonnier, Loore and Trilling, claims that the DU shells used in Iraq and Kosovo contained traces of elements that indicate the probable presence of PLUTONIUM.

The authors claims are based on papers that have led them to 3 nuclear plants in PADUCAH, Kentucky, PORTSMOUTH, Ohio, and OAK RIDGE, Tennessee - the main makers of DU. (Sunday Times 21 Jan 2001).

In January 2000, Bill Richardson, the then US Energy secretary, accepted that THOUSANDS of workers at PADUCAH "had been exposed to radiation and chemicals that produced cancer and early death."

Many of the victims suffer from chronic fatigue and joint pain, the same symptoms suffered by Gulf War veterans.

Documents from August 1999 show that workers at Paducah had been inhaling PLUTONIUM. (Sunday Times 21 Jan 2001).

In October 1999 the US Energy Department reported that "the Paducah gaseous diffusion plant...created depleted uranium potentially containing...plutonium." (Sunday Times 21 Jan 2001)

In January 2001 United Nations officials investigating the effects of DU in kosovo confirmed they had found traces of elements indicating PLUTONIUM. (Sunday Times 21 Jan 2001.)
